Elephants Drift is an affordable, exclusive, unfenced Big 5 Game Lodge in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, forming part of the Greater Kruger National Park.

We offer both game drives and game walks in our vast exclusive use 5000 hectare wilderness area, which includes stunning hills, ridges and koppies, awesome dry river beds, incredible picnic and sundowner spots and breathtaking views of the mighty Olifants River.

At Elephants Drift, we can accommodate you (or your group of up to 10 people) in either our charming and rustic Main Camp or our picturesque Parrot Tree Tented Camp. Both Main camp and Parrot Tree Tented Camp will be available for you and your group’s exclusive use during your stay. You can decide whether you wish to spend all your time at just one of the camps or part of your time at each.

Elephants Drift Main Camp is charming and rustic, consisting of a number of separate thatched buildings arranged around a large central lawn. It is situated on a riverbed under huge shady trees. After good summer rains the small dam on which the camp is situated pushes water up to the edge of the outdoor living area. The camp consists of a covered barbeque area, four chalets, kitchen building, a comfortable lounge and a swimming pool. Two bath/shower rooms service three of the chalets and the fourth has a private bathroom. All were fully refurbished in 2008. The chalets all sleep 1-4 people depending on the needs of your group. The maximum number per group is 10. Cooking is done in the well-equipped kitchen or over the open fire with most meals eaten in the outdoor area or thatched lapa. A thatched dining area adjoining the kitchen is occasionally used when it rains.

The newly built and picturesque Parrot Tree Tented Camp is situated in one of the more remote and most beautiful parts of our wilderness property. It consists of three two person walk-in tents, one Meru safari tent which accommodates four people, a kitchen, and outdoor living area under the trees. All are on decks on the edge of a cliff overlooking a magical riverbed and waterhole. The ablutions are supplied with hot and cold water and the camp runs on solar power.

Things To Do
Unlike many game lodges, at Elephants Drift we do both game drives and walking safaris depending on your preference. Both are conducted under the careful (armed) supervision of Manager and Guide, Brad Black.
