King Edward Avenue, the most nationally accredited street in Blackpool, is situated in an elegant holiday area, just yards from the famous Blackpool seafront and its trams. This Avenue with its many family run, award winning Hotels is close enough to the hustle and bustle of the busy Blackpool Centre, yet far enough away to enjoy the serenity of this quiet area. Boasting its own, practically undiscovered beach, it is a great place for families and couples to enjoy the pleasant calmness of what is Blackpool's North Shore. Standing at 518 feet, 9 inches high, weighing 2586 tons construction began on 29 September 1891. The Tower was first opened on 14 May 1894 with an entrance fee of 6d (2.5 pence).Blackpool Tower was another seaside feat of Victorian engineering and has always been known for its' quality entertainment.
