Out & About Sarlat - a well preserved medieval town where you can dine alfresco or wander around the old lanes and admire the architecture. For more information about this fascinating town, its weekly markets and other attractions. Les Eyzies - located next to the Vezère river. It boasts spectacular caves and the national museum of prehistory. Beynac - is listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village clings to a 150m cliff and at the top sits the magnificent Château de Beynac. It’s well worth climbing the steep lane up to the top for the view of the Dordogne valley. La Roque Gageac - the sand- coloured houses shelter under the dramatic cliffs which house a troglodyte fort. Both Beynac and La Roque Gageac can be viewed on the Dordogne river by taking a ride on a boat known as a “Gabarres” or see them from above whilst enjoying a ride in a hot air balloon over the valley.
