Sonnekus Guest House

This gracious old lady of a bygone era sits at the foot of the St James Mountain with the waters of False Bay at her feet. The Verandha looks out over False Bay, from Gordon's Bay through to Simon's Town. With the beach directly across the road, you can enjoy the comforts of home on the beach, literally.

Relax in old world hospitality, with all the modern comforts of 8 luxury en-suite bedrooms/suites, 2 with working fireplaces.

The pool room contains a luxurious Jacuzzi for recovering from that long, hard day. It is beautifully set up in the centre of the house, and contains all you would need to relax and ease your tired muscles.

Cold Breakfast is served Buffet style and hot breakfast is made to order. If there are special dietary needs, religious or health, we can make arrangements if we know beforehand.

Over the road to the beach, and the promenade, for a pleasant walk from St James to Muizenberg along the sea, then back again along “Millionaire’s Mile “ (Main Road) to view the many old Homes that have been declared National Monuments.

From June to November, Southern Right Whales can be viewed just off shore when they come to our Bay to mate and calve.

Kalk Bay Harbour is an enjoyable walk away. Watch the fishermen unload the “catch of the day”, and eat it to-night for dinner at one of our many fine local restaurants.

A mere 25 minutes from the V & A Waterfront and easy access to Cape Point, Table Mountain and the Winelands make Sonnekus ideally situated for exploring the wonders of the Cape.

At the end of your day savour a glass of Port in the Lounge before retiring for the night.
